The following studies are a selection from over 100 projects Warman Consult has worked on as a public transport consultancy since 1971.

In 2003 WarmanConsult was commissioned to conduct a Research Study for Transport Direct (DfT). This work is being done in partnership with Centaur Consulting. This project was requested by Kent County Council together with their other ‘Quality Bus Partners’: Thanet District Council and Stagecoach Plc.

The principal objective of the study is to evaluate the business benefits of implementing a Bus Real-time Control and Information (RTI) System from the viewpoints of a bus operator and a local transport authority. The measurement of the benefits will be based on the findings from a ‘before and after’ study in the Thanet area. Further objectives of the research are:
* to establish the operational benefits of managing buses in real-time,
* to evaluate the impact on patronage
* to identify any changes in public perception arising from the provision of RTI.

In 2002 Peter Warman is a member of a team, led by Centaur Consulting, that is supporting DTLR in a scoping, feasibility and monitoring study for Real-Time Travel Information. He was involved in planning the selection process and administrating the appraisal of proposals leading to the allocation of £20M in supplementary credit approvals.

Since 2001 WarmanConsult has assisted Trueform Engineering as a public transport information systems advisor and examining the future market development for bus stops and shelters in UK and mainland Europe.

Advised Centro, in 2001, on a ‘Passenger Information Strategy’ for the West Midlands, in line with the requirements of the Transport Act 2000. Proposals were developed following a consultative programme with local operators and representatives of passenger groups. WarmanConsult undertook a similar project for Hampshire County Council towards the end of 2001.
